Irresistible homemade jerky using venison or affordable round steak, cooked to perfection in your oven for a mouthwatering treat.
Ingredients:
  • 4 pounds round steak
  • 4 tablespoons onion powder
  • 1.3333300352097 teaspoons black pepper
  • 1.3333300352097 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 pinches salt
  • 1 teaspoon dry Italian-style salad dressing mix
  • 1 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
Instructions:
  • Slice the meat into strips no thicker than 1/4 inch. In a large bowl, combine onion powder, pepper, garlic powder, salt, and Italian seasoning. Add Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and pepper sauce. Place the meat in a container, add the marinade, cover, and refrigerate for 24 hours.
  • Preheat the oven to 150°F (65°C) while placing the oven rack on the highest level and lining the bottom with aluminum foil to catch drips.
  • Skewer the meat strips with toothpicks and hang them in the oven. Bake at the preheated temperature for 4 hours or until they reach your desired dryness.
