Tender beef in buttery mushroom sauce over noodles - a classic stroganoff delight.
Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 pound beef tenderloin
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 0.5 cup chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, cut in half
  • 1 pound mushrooms
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
Instructions:
  • Combine the flour, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Tenderize the beef by pounding the mixture into it, then slice the beef into 1/2-inch strips.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add beef and cook until browned for about 10 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to remove the meat and transfer it to a covered container. Refrigerate the meat while you prepare the gravy; keep the pan unwashed.
  • Combine water, onion, and garlic in a pan over medium heat, stirring until the brown bits are scraped from the bottom, around 5 minutes. Add mushrooms and cream of mushroom soup. Cook until mushrooms are tender, approximately 20 minutes.
  • Combine the beef and gravy in a pot over medium heat, heating for approximately 5 minutes until hot but not boiling. Stir in the sour cream and serve.
