Indulgent Southern sweet potato casserole – a holiday side that's almost dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 4 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 0.33333334326744 cup evaporated milk
  • 0.75 stick butter, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 0.66666668653488 cup brown sugar
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 0.33333334326744 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup sweetened condensed milk
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for perfect baking results.
  • In a large pot, submerge sweet potatoes in salted water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until soft, approximately 20 minutes. Drain and mash the sweet potatoes.
  • Combine mashed sweet potato, white sugar, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt in a bowl and blend with an electric mixer until creamy. Transfer the mixture into a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • Combine pecans, brown sugar, rich melted butter, flour, and luscious sweetened condensed milk in a bowl, then generously spoon the decadent topping over the sweet potato mixture.
  • Bake in the oven until beautifully golden, for approximately 25 minutes.
