A tribute to Elvis: Indulgent burger with peanut butter, bacon, and banana - sweet and salty perfection.
Ingredients:
  • 6 hamburger buns, split
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 0.5 pound bacon
  • 3 bananas
  • 6 hamburger patties
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 0.5 cup creamy peanut butter, warmed
  • 2 tablespoons honey
Instructions:
  • Preheat a griddle over medium heat. Spread butter on the inside of each burger bun, then toast in the skillet until golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  • In a large skillet over low heat, gently cook the bacon for 2 minutes. Increase heat to medium-high and pan-fry until crispy, about 5 to 7 minutes, turning frequently. Drain on paper towels, discarding most of the bacon grease.
  • Slice the bananas lengthwise into long strips, each about 4 inches in length. Coat the banana slices on both sides with sugar by placing them in a small bowl with sugar. Caramelize the banana slices in the skillet over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Place the burgers on a hot griddle and cook each side for 3 to 4 minutes over medium-high heat. Season with salt and pepper, and use a spatula to press down gently to flatten. Ensure they reach an internal temperature of at least 160°F (71°C) before serving.
  • Begin by arranging the bottom half of the burger bun and generously spreading on 1 tablespoon of peanut butter. Add the burger patty, another tablespoon of peanut butter, 2 to 3 slices of caramelized bananas, and 2 to 3 pieces of bacon. Finish off with a drizzle of 1 teaspoon honey before placing the remaining burger bun on top.
