Festive hot cocoa Chex™ snack mix with chocolate-covered cereal, marshmallows, and peppermint option. Perfect for winter days!
Ingredients:
  • 4 cups Rice Chex™ or Corn Chex™ cereal
  • 4 cups Chocolate Chex™ cereal
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup hot cocoa mix
  • 1 bag (12 oz) semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup white vanilla baking chips
  • 2 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate nonpareils
Instructions:
  • Place waxed paper on 2 large rimmed baking pans. Combine cereals in a large bowl. In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar and cocoa powder together.
  • Place semisweet chocolate chips in a small microwavable bowl and microwave on High for 45 seconds. Stir well. Heat in 15-second intervals, stirring after each, until the chocolate is melted and smooth. Pour the melted chocolate over the cereal in a bowl and mix thoroughly to coat. Transfer the mixture to a 2-gallon resealable plastic bag and add the powdered sugar mix. Seal the bag and shake to coat the mixture. Spread the coated mixture in one of the pans and allow it to cool completely, approximately 30 minutes.
  • In a small microwavable bowl, microwave white vanilla baking chips uncovered on High for 30 seconds; stir. Continue microwaving in 15-second intervals, stirring after each, until the chips are starting to melt and can be stirred smooth. Add marshmallows and coat them completely. Spread the mixture in the remaining pan, arranging mini marshmallows in small clusters; let it stand for about 30 minutes or until the coating is set.
  • Combine the cereal, marshmallow clusters, and chocolate nonpareils in a large serving bowl. Store in a covered container at room temperature.
