Colorful cake pops coated with Trix® cereal sprinkles for a playful twist.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Yellow Cake Mix or 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ White Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs or egg whites called for on cake mix box
  • 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting
  • 4 cups Trix™ cereal
  • 36 oz vanilla-flavored candy coating (almond bark)
  • 48 paper lollipop sticks
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Prepare and bake cake according to the instructions on the box for a 13x9-inch pan. Allow to cool completely, approximately 1 hour.
  • Crumble cake in a large bowl and mix in frosting until thoroughly combined. Chill in the refrigerator for about 2 hours or until firm enough to mold.
  • Shape the cake mixture into 48 (1 1/2-inch) balls and place them on a cookie sheet. Freeze for 1 to 2 hours until firm. In the meantime, crush the cereal and line another cookie sheet with waxed paper.
  • In a microwave-safe 1-quart bowl, heat 12 oz of candy coating uncovered on High for 1 minute and 30 seconds; remember to stir. Microwave and stir in 15-second intervals until completely melted; stir until smooth. Take out one-third of the balls from the freezer. Use 2 forks to dip and roll each ball in the coating. Put them on a waxed paper-lined cookie sheet. Quickly sprinkle with crushed cereal. Melt the rest of the candy coating in batches of 12 oz; dip the remaining balls and sprinkle with cereal. Chill in the refrigerator.
  • To present, elegantly insert sticks into cake balls. Store any extra cake balls in a sealed container in the fridge.
