30-Minute Turkey Patty Melt Sandwiches: Quick and delicious dinner option!
Ingredients:
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 pound lean ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup chili sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (2 ounces)
  • 4 teaspoons mayonnaise or salad dressing
  • 4 slices whole-grain bread, toasted
Instructions:
  • Prepare a 12-inch nonstick skillet with a light coating of cooking spray and warm it over medium heat. Sauté the onion and bell pepper in the skillet for 6 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are tender. Transfer the cooked vegetables from the skillet and keep them warm.
  • Combine the turkey, chili sauce, and garlic powder, then form 4 patties, each 5 inches in diameter. Cook the patties in a skillet over medium heat for 4 to 5 minutes on each side, or until the turkey is cooked through.
  • 1. Place a generous portion of 1/4 cup of vegetables on top of each patty and sprinkle 2 tablespoons of cheese over them. Cover and cook for 1 to 2 minutes until the cheese is melted. 2. Spread 1 teaspoon of mayonnaise on each slice of toast and place a patty on top of each.
