Delicious twist on Salisbury steak with turkey and savory mushroom gravy for a nostalgic school lunch upgrade.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons dry onion soup mix
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1.5 pounds ground turkey
  • 1 cup Italian-seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can water
  • 3 tablespoons brown gravy mix
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • Combine 1 cup water, onion soup mix, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and black pepper in a bowl and whisk together. Strain the mixture, saving both the solids and broth. In a large bowl, pour 1/2 cup broth and add the saved solids. Combine this mixture with turkey, bread crumbs, and egg until well mixed. Shape 8 patties using a 1/2 cup measure, place them on a baking sheet, and bake.
  • Roast in the oven until meat is no longer pink in the center and juices run clear, approximately 20 minutes. Ensure internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F (74 degrees C) with an instant-read thermometer.
  • Combine the remaining broth, mushroom soup, 1 can of water, and gravy mix in a saucepan. Whisk until mixture is smooth, then bring to a boil while stirring constantly. Once boiling, remove from heat.
  • Flip the patties and generously smother them with the savory gravy. Allow them to cook for an additional 10 minutes until the gravy reaches the perfect thickness.
