Thanksgiving leftover burger with turkey, stuffing, gravy, apple, cranberry sauce, and crispy onions - a flavor-packed bite.
Ingredients:
  • 4 cups leftover cooked stuffing or dressing
  • 1/3 cup turkey gravy
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh herbs, such as parsley, sage or thyme
  • 2 tablespoons seasoned breadcrumbs, or as needed
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 4 brioche hamburger buns
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons sage or 1/2 teaspoon dried sage
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise, divided
  • 3/4 lb. leftover, roasted turkey breast, sliced
  • 1 large green apple, cored and thinly sliced
  • 4 1/4 -1/2 inch slices jellied canned cranberry sauce
  • 1/2 cup crispy fried onions, such as French’s crispy fried onions
Instructions:
  • Combine leftover stuffing with gravy, egg, and herbs in a bowl. Mix in breadcrumbs and adjust texture with up to 2 tablespoons more if needed. Shape mixture into 4 tight patties.
  • In a spacious, nonstick skillet, warm oil over medium-high heat. Add patties and let them sizzle until golden brown, approximately 2 minutes. Turn them over and continue cooking until evenly toasted and heated through, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Spread a mixture of softened butter and sage on both sides of each bun. Place the buns in a heated skillet, buttered side down. Toast until golden brown, approximately 1 minute.
  • On each toasted bun half, generously spread a layer of creamy mayonnaise. Next, stack a flavorful stuffing patty onto the bottom bun half. Top it off with crisp apple slices, succulent turkey slices, and a dollop of tangy cranberry sauce. Sprinkle onions generously over each burger before crowning them with the remaining bun tops.
