Indulge in homemade vanilla custard for a luscious treat. Perfect with a classic crumble.
Ingredients:
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • 600 ml whole milk
  • 4 large free-range egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoons caster sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornflour
Instructions:
  • Split the vanilla pod and scrape the seeds into a pan on medium-low heat. Add the pod, pour in the milk, and bring to a gentle boil. Cool slightly, remove the pod. Whisk egg yolks with sugar and cornflour until pale. Slowly incorporate the warm milk, whisking after each addition. Return to the pan and cook over low heat for around 20 minutes until thick, whisking constantly. Serve with your favorite crumble.
