Savor the rich flavors of venison chili with a touch of tequila for a delicious twist. Customize spice level to your liking.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 pounds ground venison
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 3 cups chopped white onion
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 2 (28 ounce) cans diced tomatoes
  • 1 (16 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 0.5 cup gold tequila
  • 0.5 cup orange juice
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans chili beans in sauce
Instructions:
  • In a large pot over medium-high heat, heat the oil until shimmering. Add the ground venison and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned. Stir in the celery and onion and cook until soft. Sprinkle in red pepper flakes, garlic powder, and chili powder. Stir and cook for a minute to enhance the aromas.
  • Add the tomatoes, tomato sauce, tequila, and orange juice to the pot. Let it simmer uncovered on low heat for 2 hours. Then stir in the beans and continue to simmer for an additional 30 minutes.
