Creamy pumpkin adds richness to a unique venison chili without beans.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 pounds ground venison
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 1 large green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree
  • 0.33333334326744 cup chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 pinch chipotle chile pepper, ground
Instructions:
  • In a sizzling skillet, sauté venison with onions, bell pepper, and jalapeno until venison is browned and crumbled, and veggies are tender, for about 5-7 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook until aromatic, approximately 1 minute.
  • Stir in crushed tomatoes, pumpkin, chili powder, paprika, cumin, turmeric, and chipotle chile powder. Simmer on low heat for 30 minutes.
