Fragrant marinade infusing fish sauce, lemongrass, ginger, five-spice powder, and soy sauce for a fusion of Vietnamese and Chinese flavors.
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon minced fresh ginger root
  • 1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced shallot
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.5 onion, chopped
  • 2 lemon grass, chopped
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 6 thin, boneless center-cut pork chops
Instructions:
  • Combine brown sugar, honey, fish sauce, 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, ginger, five-spice powder, sesame oil, shallot, garlic, onion, lemon grass, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Transfer the mixture to a resealable plastic bag. Add pork chops, coat with marinade, remove excess air, and seal the bag. Refrigerate for 8 hours.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, or on a preheated outdoor grill, with a lightly oiled grate, cook the pork chops until no longer pink in the center, around 4 minutes per side.
