Tender Vietnamese pork cubes perfect with any grain or pasta.
Ingredients:
  • 4 pounds pork shoulder, cut into cubes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.25 cup olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
Instructions:
  • Generously sprinkle pork with a pinch of salt and pepper to enhance flavor.
  • In a large pot over medium heat, sauté pork and garlic in olive oil until pork is golden brown all over, for about 7 to 10 minutes.
  • Combine brown sugar, soy sauce, fish sauce, and five-spice powder with the pork. Simmer on medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the pork is fork-tender, about 2 hours.
