Create colorful sweet treats from pantry staples for a fun and delicious surprise!
Ingredients:
  • 175g butter, chilled, chopped
  • 141.90 gm caster sugar
  • 500.00 ml plain flour
  • 1 egg
  • 8.80 gm vanilla extract
  • 180g block white chocolate, melted
  • 190g packet hundreds and thousands, to decorate
Instructions:
  • Blend together butter, sugar, and flour until a crumbly texture forms. Mix in the egg and extract until the dough just combines. Transfer the dough to a floured surface, gently knead it, then divide it into 2 portions and shape each into a disc. Wrap both discs in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  • 1. Preheat the oven to 170C/150C fan-forced and prepare 2 large baking trays by greasing and lining them. 2. Roll out one portion of the dough between two sheets of baking paper until it is 5mm thick. Cut rounds using a 5cm round cutter, rerolling and cutting any excess dough. 3. Arrange the rounds on the prepared trays, keeping them 2cm apart. 4. Bake one tray at a time for 8 to 10 minutes until the cookies are firm to the touch but not browned. 5. Once baked, transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool.
  • Continue with the rest of the dough.
  • Cover cookie tops enticingly with a rich layer of luscious chocolate. Coat with colorful hundreds and thousands. Allow them to rest for 1 hour or until the chocolate is firm. Enjoy!
