Creamy Cajun pasta with smoked sausage and seasoning blend for a quick, easy, and rich dish with just 5 ingredients.
Ingredients:
  • 12 ounces bow tie pasta
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 (14 ounce) package smoked sausage, cut into 1/2-inch thick slices
  • 1 (10 ounce ) frozen seasoning blend
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning, or more to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • finely chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
  • 1. Boil a big pot of salted water. Cook bow tie pasta until al dente, about 12 minutes, stirring occasionally. Save 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
  • In a large deep skillet, gently heat oil over medium-low heat. Add sausage and cook, stirring occasionally, until fat is rendered and sausage is browned (about 3 minutes). Increase heat to medium-high, add seasoning blend and Cajun seasoning, and cook until vegetables are softened (about 4 minutes).
  • Add the heavy cream and let it simmer until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally.
  • Combine the cooked pasta and Parmesan cheese, stirring constantly until fully mixed. Adjust the consistency by adding reserved pasta water. If desired, top with fresh parsley before serving promptly.
