Indulge in a delicious banana pie with chocolate, cream cheese, and pretzel crust.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup crushed pretzels
  • 4 ounces vanilla wafer cookies, or as needed
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 0.5 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 6 (1 ounce) squares semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 0.5 cup powdered sugar
  • 1.5 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 5 medium bananas, or more as needed
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 (3.4 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon grated semisweet chocolate, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Make the crust by pulsing pretzels, cookies, and brown sugar in a food processor until blended. Slowly drizzle in melted butter and pulse to combine. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9x13-inch dish.
  • Make chocolate ganache: Microwave cream until boiling in 1-minute intervals. Whisk in chocolate until melted and smooth. Spread over the crust and chill in the fridge until ready to use.
  • Create the cream cheese layer by whisking together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and a splash of cream until light and fluffy. Then, gradually add the rest of the cream and continue whisking until smooth. Spread this luxurious mixture over the crust.
  • Slice the bananas lengthwise and then cut them in half. Arrange the bananas over the cream cheese mixture and place back in the refrigerator.
  • Whisk milk and pudding mix until thickened, about 3 to 4 minutes. Spread over the bananas and chill in the refrigerator.
  • Make the topping: Whip cold cream in a chilled glass or metal bowl using an electric mixer until frothy. Gradually add powdered sugar while continuing to whip until soft peaks form. Spread over the pudding layer and sprinkle with grated chocolate.
  • Refrigerate for a minimum of 4 hours or overnight before slicing and serving for best results.
