Versatile make-ahead tomato sauce for pasta, pizza, or soup.
Ingredients:
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons dried minced shallots
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.75 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions:
  • In a blender, combine tomato sauce, olive oil, sugar, thyme, basil, oregano, shallots, garlic powder, salt, and baking soda. Blend on high for 1 to 2 minutes until the sauce is smooth and thoroughly mixed.
  • Portion the sauce evenly into twelve half-cup freezer-safe containers and place them in the freezer until needed.
  • Thaw individual containers in the refrigerator for approximately 1 hour before using.
