Indulgent Chex™ cereal snack mix with malted milk balls and vanilla chips inspired by a classic chocolate malt beverage.
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup original-flavor malted milk powder
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened baking cocoa
  • 4 cups Rice Chex™ or Corn Chex™ cereal
  • 4 cups Chocolate Chex™ cereal
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate-covered malted milk balls
  • 1/2 cup white vanilla baking chips
Instructions:
  • Prepare a large rimmed baking pan with waxed paper. Combine powdered sugar, malted milk powder, and baking cocoa in a small bowl; set aside. Place cereals in a large microwavable bowl.
  • Place butter in a small microwavable bowl and microwave uncovered on High for 20 to 30 seconds until melted. Stir in granulated sugar and microwave uncovered on High for 30 to 60 seconds until sugar is almost dissolved. Drizzle over cereal and stir until evenly coated.
  • Microwave mixture on High for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring every minute until nicely coated and slightly toasted. Transfer to a 2-gallon resealable plastic bag. Add powdered sugar mixture to the bag with the cereal, seal, and shake well to coat. Spread the mixture in a pan and cool for about 20 minutes.
  • Combine the cereal mixture, malted milk balls, and baking chips in a large serving bowl and store in a covered container at room temperature.
