Irresistible mashed potatoes with caramelized onions, cream cheese, and a savory-sweet blend of ingredients for ultimate flavor.
Ingredients:
  • 6 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 4 tablespoons butter, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 large white onion, diced
  • salt to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons whipping cream
  • 0.33333334326744 cup sour cream
  • 0.5 cup cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 0.25 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chicken bouillon granules
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Place potatoes in a large pot, covering them with water. Bring to a boil over high heat and simmer until potatoes are fork-tender, about 25 minutes. Drain and return to pot.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter and olive oil together. Add onions, sprinkle with salt, and sauté for 5 minutes. Lower the heat to medium low and continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until the onions turn a deep golden brown, approximately 20 minutes. Mix in brown sugar.
  • Drizzle the whipping cream over the potatoes and use a large fork or potato masher to mash them. Add sour cream, cream cheese, soy sauce, Parmesan cheese, bouillon granules, and dried parsley. Incorporate the caramelized onions and season with black pepper. Use an electric mixer to blend until smooth. Warm gently over low heat before serving.
