Addictive Spicy Dill Avocado Pickles

Spicy pickles with avocado, habanero peppers, vinegar, and dill - a tangy and addictive DIY snack.
Ingredients:
  • 1.25 cups distilled white vinegar
  • 1 cup filtered water
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon rock salt
  • 1 teaspoon brown mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh dill
  • 0.5 teaspoon whole black peppercorns
  • 0.5 teaspoon habanero pepper flakes
  • 2 habanero peppers
  • 1 clove garlic, lightly smashed and halved
  • 2 underripe avocados, peeled and sliced into eighths
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, mix vinegar and water. Add sugar, salt, mustard seeds, dill, peppercorns, and habanero pepper flakes. Bring to a boil and stir until sugar and salt dissolve. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature for about 15 minutes.
  • Split the habanero peppers and garlic clove between 2 canning jars, then evenly distribute the avocado slices between the jars.
  • Mix vinegar mixture thoroughly to evenly distribute the seasoning. Transfer the mixture into jars, seal tightly, and refrigerate. Allow the flavors to meld together by chilling for approximately 24 hours.
