Air fryer carrots coated in spicy hot honey butter with orange zest and cardamom for a flavorful side dish.
Ingredients:
  • 1 serving cooking spray
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon hot honey (such as Mike's Hot Honey®)
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange zest
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 0.5 pound baby carrots
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 pinch salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Assemble all ingredients.
  • Preheat the air fryer to a toasty 400 degrees F (200 degrees C, if you prefer the metric system), then generously coat the basket with nonstick spray.
  • Mix together the butter, honey, orange zest, and cardamom in a bowl. Set aside 1 tablespoon of the mixture in a separate bowl.
  • Toss carrots in the flavorful sauce before arranging them in the air fryer basket.
  • Roast carrots in the preheated air fryer, tossing occasionally, until fork-tender and nicely caramelized, for about 15 to 22 minutes.
  • Combine orange juice with the reserved honey-butter sauce. Coat cooked carrots with the mixture until evenly coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
