Air fryer mozzarella chips recipe

Air fryer cheesy sticks with crunchy coating, paired with creamy avocado dipping sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 40.00 ml plain flour
  • 3 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 165.00 ml panko breadcrumbs
  • 62.50 ml cornflake crumbs
  • 550g block mozzarella
  • Olive oil spray
  • 1 avocado, roughly chopped
  • 86.63 gm lemon juice
  • 62.50 ml plain Greek-style yoghurt
  • 40.00 gm basil pesto
  • 1 green onion, roughly chopped
Instructions:
  • To make the Creamy Avocado Dipping Sauce, simply blend avocado, lemon juice, Greek yogurt, pesto, and onion in a food processor until smooth. Season generously with salt and pepper, then transfer the mixture to a bowl, cover it, and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  • Prepare a large tray lined with baking paper. In a shallow bowl, mix flour and garlic powder, season with salt. Whisk eggs in another shallow bowl. Place breadcrumbs in a separate bowl.
  • Slice mozzarella into 2cm-thick sticks. Coat cheese in flour, then dip in egg mixture and breadcrumbs, working in batches. Arrange on tray and freeze for 1 hour until firm.
  • Generously coat mozzarella sticks with oil. Place a layer of baking paper in the air fryer basket, ensuring a 1cm gap for proper air circulation. Air-fry sticks at 180C in batches for 4 to 4 1/2 minutes until they are golden brown and crispy. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
