Make irresistible air fryer mozzarella sticks - crispy, gooey, and better than store-bought.
Ingredients:
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 8 whole milk (or low-fat) mozzarella sticks
Instructions:
  • Prepare for cooking: Place wax paper on a rimmed baking sheet. Gently whisk the egg in a wide, shallow bowl. Mix Italian seasoning, salt, and breadcrumbs in another wide, shallow bowl.
  • Prepare the mozzarella sticks for freezing: Dip each stick in beaten egg, ensuring it's fully coated, then coat it entirely with breadcrumbs. Embrace the mess. Place the coated sticks on a wax paper-lined baking sheet without touching. Freeze for at least 30 minutes, but no more than 1 hour.
  • Take the mozzarella sticks out of the freezer, coat them in egg and breadcrumbs, then freeze for at least 30 minutes, up to 1 hour.
  • Air fry mozzarella sticks at 390°F after spraying with nonstick cooking spray. Cook until golden and crispy, for 6 to 8 minutes in batches, if needed.
