Patriotic cake with blueberry filling, topped with red and white stripes and fresh blueberry stars - perfect for celebrating!
Ingredients:
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 0.33333334326744 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 (3 ounce) package strawberry-flavored Jell-O® mix
  • 0.5 cup boiling water
  • 1 (3.5 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 1 cup frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 0.5 cup fresh blueberries
  • 2 cups frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1.5 cups sliced fresh strawberries
  • 0.5 cup miniature marshmallows
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and prepare a 9x13-inch baking pan by greasing and flouring it.
  • Combine yellow cake mix, 1 cup of water, vegetable oil, and eggs in a mixing bowl until just moistened. Beat with a mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes. Pour batter into a prepared baking pan.
  • Bake the cake in a preheated oven until it's lightly browned and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 35 minutes. Cool it completely on a wire rack, then poke holes about 1 inch apart all over the cake using a fork.
  • Prepare the strawberry gelatin by dissolving it in boiling water, then delicately pour it over the cake ensuring it fills the holes. Chill the cake until the gelatin is set, approximately 1 hour. Gently move the cake to a serving platter and slice it horizontally in half.
  • Whisk instant vanilla pudding mix with milk until thickened, about 2 minutes, then fold in 1/2 cup blueberries. Spread blueberry filling on bottom cake layer, top with cake top. Smoothly cover cake with 2 cups whipped topping. Create a square of blueberries in the upper left corner, then arrange strawberries and marshmallows in alternating red and white layers for flag design.
