Indulge in a delicious Almond Pear Pie using Pillsbury™ pie crust for a delightful treat!
Ingredients:
  • 1 box (14.1 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Pie Crusts (2 Count), softened as directed on box
  • 1 can (8 oz) or tube (7 oz) almond paste
  • 5 cups 1/2-inch slices peeled, ripe (but firm) pears (about 4 pears)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons apple pie spice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Prepare pie crusts according to the package instructions for a Two-Crust Pie using a 9-inch glass pie plate. Shape almond paste into a disk then roll or pat it into an 8-inch circle on a lightly floured surface. Gently place it in the bottom of the pie crust.
  • Combine pears, 2 tablespoons sugar, flour, apple pie spice, and lemon juice in a big bowl; mix thoroughly. Spoon mixture over almond paste in the crust. Top with the second crust, seal edges, and create a decorative flute. Cut slits in the crust for steam to escape. Brush the top crust with egg wash and sprinkle with almonds and 1 teaspoon of sugar.
  • Bake for 55 to 65 minutes until the pears are tender and the crust is beautifully golden brown. Let it cool for at least 1 hour before serving.
