Almond and poppy seed create deliciously moist muffins with great flavor!
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 1/3 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons poppy seed
  • 3 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sliced almonds
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F and prepare a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners or cooking spray.
  • Combine 1/2 cup sugar, oil, egg, and almond extract in a large bowl. Mix in sour cream and milk until combined. Add flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, and poppy seeds until well mixed. Divide batter evenly into muffin cups and top with 3 teaspoons of sugar and almonds.
  • Bake for 14 to 17 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Transfer to a wire rack and serve warm or at room temperature.
