Indulge in quick and easy apple almond slices for a sweet fix in no time!
Ingredients:
  • 1 x 400g packet Traditional English Tea Cake mix
  • 80g softened butter, chopped
  • 160ml milk
  • 3 green apples
  • 125g slivered almonds
  • 34.40 gm demerara sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 200°C (180°C for fan-forced). Grease a 21cm x 31cm x 5cm deep slab tin and line the base with non-stick baking paper.
  • In an electric mixer bowl, combine packet cake mix (set aside cinnamon sachet), eggs, butter, and milk. Mix on low speed until moistened, then switch to medium speed and beat for 2 minutes.
  • Grate apples and mix into cake batter. Transfer into prepared pan. In a separate bowl, blend slivered almonds, demerara sugar, and cinnamon. Sprinkle on top of the batter evenly.
  • Bake the cake for 35-40 minutes until cooked through. Slice into squares and serve warm with a dollop of double cream.
