Indulge in warm spiced apple biscuits with a generous dollop of cream.
Ingredients:
  • 60mls (1/4 cup) water
  • 57.20 gm honey
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 0.63 gm mixed spice
  • 2 large golden delicious apples, peeled, cored, halved, thinly sliced
  • 4 Amsterdam Delight (almond) biscuits (Holland House brand)
  • 125mls (1/2 cup) thickened cream, lightly whipped
  • Pinch mixed spice, extra, to serve
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, mix water, honey, cloves, and mixed spice. Bring to a boil over medium heat and cook for 3 minutes. Add apple slices, cover, and cook for 8-10 minutes until apples are tender. Let it cool slightly, then remove and discard the cloves.
  • To present, arrange biscuits on plates, add apple on top, and drizzle with some poaching syrup. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream dusted with additional mixed spice.
