Flavorful whole roasted chicken made easy with ranch dressing mix and apple cider, ready in just 1 hour!
Ingredients:
  • 1 (3 pound) whole chicken
  • 0.5 cup dry ranch dressing mix
  • 2 tablespoons granulated garlic
  • 2 tablespoons poultry seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon ground paprika
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, or as needed
  • 0.66666668653488 cup apple cider, divided
  • 1 medium onion, cut into wedges
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 0.33333334326744 cup apple cider
  • 1 tablespoon dry ranch dressing mix
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Clean the chicken thoroughly and pat dry using a paper towel.
  • Mix together ranch dressing mix, granulated garlic, poultry seasoning, paprika, and cayenne in a bowl to create a flavorful rub.
  • Massage chicken with oil to coat. Stuff chicken with 1/3 cup apple cider, onion wedges, and fresh garlic, using onions to seal. Equally distribute rub all over, ensuring legs and under wings are fully coated.
  • Position the chicken on a standing roasting rack in a deep baking dish. Drizzle the remaining apple cider and ranch dressing mix over the chicken.
  • Roast in a preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce the oven temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and bake until fully cooked, about 30 minutes. Rest covered with foil for 10 minutes before serving.
