Easy Homemade Apple and Pear Scones with Caramel Sauce - Ready in 35 minutes.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/4 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 1/4 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup chopped peeled apple
  • 1 cup chopped peeled pear
  • 1 egg
  • Sea salt, for sprinkling
Instructions:
  • To prepare Caramel Sauce: In a large microwave-safe glass bowl, combine 1 cup of sugar, corn syrup, water, and lemon juice. Microwave on High for 5 to 7 minutes until the mixture transforms into a light golden color. Let it cool on a rack for 5 minutes.
  • In a small microwave-safe bowl, microwave the whipping cream on high for about 30 seconds until warm. Pour slowly over the sauce in a large bowl while continuously whisking. Mix in the vanilla and 1 tablespoon of butter until well combined. Allow the mixture to cool completely before using.
  • Preheat your oven to 425°F and generously spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray.
  • Combine Bisquick mix and sugar in a large bowl. Use a pastry blender to cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in chopped apple and pear.
  • Combine the whipped cream and egg in a small bowl until smooth. Slowly fold the cream mixture into the Bisquick mixture until a dough forms.
  • Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and knead until it comes together (about 5 to 6 turns). Divide the dough in half and shape each half into a 6-inch circle. Cut each circle into 6 wedges and place them on a baking sheet.
  • Bake until golden brown, then cool on a rack. Drizzle with caramel sauce, sprinkle with sea salt, and serve warm.
