Sweet and savory cornbread dressing to satisfy any appetite. Substitute 2 tsp dried parsley for fresh.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (9x9 inch) pan cornbread, cooled and crumbled
  • 1 (8 ounce) package herb-seasoned dry bread stuffing mix
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.75 cup butter
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cups chopped apples
  • 0.5 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 cups apple juice
  • 3 eggs, beaten
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously butter a 3 quart casserole dish.
  • In a heavy saucepan, melt the butter and saute the celery and onion until tender, about 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Combine cornbread, stuffing mix, parsley, ginger, and salt in a large bowl. Add celery, onions, apples, pecans, apple juice, and beaten eggs. Spoon mixture into casserole dish.
  • Place your dish in the already heated oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until it's thoroughly heated and has a beautifully light brown top.
