Indulge in these irresistible apple turnovers, perfect for any occasion!
Ingredients:
  • 400g can pie apples
  • 56.10 gm sultanas
  • 16.00 gm brown sugar
  • 1.25 gm ground cinnamon
  • 3 sheets frozen reduced fat puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • Icing sugar, for dusting
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 200C or 180C fan-forced and prepare 2 baking trays with non-stick baking paper. In a bowl, mix together pie apples, sultanas, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Use a saucer to cut out 4 x 11cm rounds from each sheet of pastry.
  • Place a generous 2 tablespoons of the apple mixture onto each pastry round, then fold the pastry over. Seal by pressing the edges with the back of a fork. Transfer the turnovers to the prepared trays and delicately brush them with beaten egg.
  • Pierce the pastry with a fork. Bake until golden brown, for 15-20 minutes. Sprinkle turnovers with powdered sugar and serve warm or at room temperature.
