I went from musician to journalist after touring with the White Stripes in 2007. The Sidecar cocktail from the Hemingway Bar at The Ritz in Paris always takes me back to that unforgettable night. My recipe adds a touch of stone-fruit liqueur for a twist on the classic.
Ingredients:
  • 50 ml cognac (1865 vintage optional)
  • 25 ml lemon juice
  • 12.5 ml triple sec
  • 12.5 ml apricot liqueur (a good-quality peach liqueur works well, too)
Instructions:
  • Vigorously shake with ice and pour into a chilled coupe glass. Add a lemon twist for a refreshing touch before serving.
