Savory flat iron steak marinated in soy sauce with green onions and garlic, served alongside vibrant Asian vegetables.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 0.25 cup rice wine vinegar
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup sliced green onions
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon mustard powder
  • 2 pounds flat iron steak
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
Instructions:
  • Combine soy sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, green onions, garlic, and mustard powder in a bowl, then transfer the mixture to a resealable plastic bag. Place the steak in the bag, coat it with the marinade, press out any excess air, and seal the bag. Refrigerate and marinate for 3 to 4 hours.
  • Discard excess marinade and remove steak.
  • Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and sear the steak for about 1 minute per side until browned. Cook each side for an additional 5 minutes until reaching desired doneness. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure it reaches 140 degrees F (60 degrees C). Let the steak rest for 3 to 5 minutes off the heat before slicing, then sprinkle with sesame seeds.
