Try my husband-approved sweet and tangy sesame marinade, perfect for indoor grilling!
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon green hot pepper sauce
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon teriyaki sauce
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 12 ounces flat iron steaks
  • 3 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 0.5 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions:
  • Combine 2 tablespoons of sesame oil with garlic, salt, onion powder, Cajun seasoning, hot pepper sauce, soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, and brown sugar in a bowl. Transfer the mixture to a resealable plastic bag. Add the flat iron steak, coat it with the marinade, remove excess air, and seal the bag. Refrigerate for 12 hours.
  • Pat dry the flat iron steak after removing it from the marinade, then discard the excess marinade. Heat 3 tablespoons of sesame oil in a cast iron skillet over medium high heat until smoking. Sear the steak for about 3 minutes per side to your preferred doneness. Let the steak rest for 5 minutes before thinly slicing. In the same skillet, sauté the bell pepper until soft, then add green onions and cook for 30 seconds. Serve the pepper mixture over the sliced steak.
