Creamy German-style potato salad with bold Asian flavors. Optional ham adds texture without compromising taste. Perfect for impressing your guests with minimal effort.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 pounds red potatoes, scrubbed
  • 0.5 cup frozen mixed vegetables
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 large yellow onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced garlic
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 0.5 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon wasabi powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 cup cooked, cubed ham
  • 0.25 cup chopped fresh cilantro
Instructions:
  • Boil potatoes in seasoned water until tender, about 10 minutes. Add frozen mixed vegetables and cook for another 10-12 minutes until everything is tender. Drain and transfer to a bowl. Cut hot potatoes into 1-inch pieces and let cool.
  • In a skillet, warm up the olive oil. Add the onion, then season with garlic, salt, and pepper. Sauté until soft and fragrant.
  • Combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, sesame oil, hot sauce, wasabi powder, ginger, and turmeric in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Combine the chilled potato and vegetable mixture with the onions, mayonnaise mixture, ham, and cilantro, ensuring everything is evenly coated. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
