Homemade marzipan: a deliciously sweet almond paste for candies, cakes, and pastries - easier to make than you'd expect.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup (96g) almond flour
  • 2 cups (227g) powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 tablespoons water
Instructions:
  • In a food processor, blend almond flour and powdered sugar together until finely powdered, scraping the sides occasionally with a rubber spatula, for about 2 minutes.
  • Combine almond extract and water in the food processor. Process until the mixture forms a smooth ball. If the mixture remains dry, gradually add water, 1 teaspoon at a time, processing for 1 minute after each addition until it resembles fondant icing or playdough.
  • Transfer the marzipan from the food processor to a clean surface with a spatula, ensuring no bits are left behind. Gently knead the marzipan on the counter for 30 seconds until smooth and well-combined.
  • Shape the marzipan into a log, wrap it in plastic, and chill until firm before using.
  • To preserve freshness, store the marzipan air-tight in the refrigerator for up to 10 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight or for at least 3 to 4 hours before use. If you enjoyed this recipe, kindly leave a star rating below!
