Create a sweet and simple homemade berry syrup using frozen mixed berries on the stovetop. Perfect for topping cheesecake, French toast, pancakes, or waffles!
Ingredients:
  • 2 (12 ounce) packages frozen mixed berries
  • 2.25 cups warm water, divided
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
Instructions:
  • In a medium saucepan, combine frozen berries and 2 cups of water. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until berries have thawed but are not hot. Add sugar, bring to a simmer, and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Combine the remaining 1/4 cup of water with cornstarch in a bowl. Pour the mixture into the berries and cook over medium-low heat until slightly thickened, around 3 minutes.
