Korean-style grilled beef marinated in sweet and savory pear-soy marinade, paired with mushrooms and onions for an authentic taste.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 pounds beef top sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons white cooking wine
  • 1 cup pear juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Asian (toasted) sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onion
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 0.5 pound fresh mushrooms, halved
  • 0.5 onion, chopped
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, combine the beef with cooking wine, pear juice, and black pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for 30 minutes. Add soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, garlic, green onion, and sesame seeds. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat before cooking.
  • After marinating, take out the beef and discard the marinade. Next, lay a sheet of aluminum foil on the hot grill. Arrange the beef slices on one side of the foil and the mushrooms and onion on the other. Grill the beef until evenly browned, about 3 to 5 minutes per side. Serve with the cooked mushrooms and onion.
