Easy Korean steak bursting with authentic flavors.
Ingredients:
  • 1 750g piece beef fillet
  • 80ml (1/3 cup) soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 25.00 gm caster sugar
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 4 green shallots, trimmed, cut into 4cm lengths, finely shredded
  • Salt & freshly ground black pepper
Instructions:
  • Wrap the beef tightly in plastic wrap and chill in the freezer until slightly frozen, about 2 hours. Slice the beef thinly using a sharp knife.
  • In a bowl, combine beef with soy sauce, oil, sugar, garlic, and green shallots. Season with salt and pepper, toss to coat evenly. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight for best results).
  • Preheat a barbecue plate over high heat. Cook half of the beef for 30-40 seconds, turning once, until just cooked. Transfer to a serving plate and cover loosely with foil. Repeat with the remaining beef. Serve immediately. (You can also use a flat chargrill or large heavy-based frying pan if desired.)
