Zesty lime-marinated shrimp mixed with fresh tomato, creamy avocado, and a secret sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 2 pounds large shrimp - peeled, deveined and chopped
  • 0.75 cup fresh lime juice
  • 5 roma (plum) tomatoes, diced
  • 1 white onion, chopped
  • 0.5 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 avocado - peeled, pitted and diced
  • 16 saltine crackers
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, combine shrimp and lime juice, ensuring they are evenly coated. Allow to marinate for 5 minutes until shrimp turn opaque from the lime juice. Add in tomatoes, onion, and cilantro; mix well to coat with lime juice. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.
  • Take out of the refrigerator and combine Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, hot sauce, salt, and pepper. Feel free to use your favorite hot sauce or omit it and allow guests to customize their spice level at the table.
  • Present the dish in elegant glass tumblers and garnish with fresh avocado pieces. Accompany with additional Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, lime wedges, and hot sauce for a personalized touch. Serve alongside crisp saltine crackers.
