Delicious apple sausage stuffing with turkey sausage, herbs, apples, and cranberries - perfect for Thanksgiving turkey.
Ingredients:
  • 3.75 cups cubed white bread
  • 1.5 cups cubed whole wheat bread
  • 1 pound ground turkey sausage
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 0.75 cup chopped celery
  • 2.5 teaspoons dried sage
  • 1.5 teaspoons dried rosemary
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 Golden Delicious apple, cored and chopped
  • 0.75 cup dried cranberries
  • 0.33333334326744 cup minced fresh parsley
  • 1 cooked turkey liver, finely chopped
  • 0.75 cup turkey stock
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for a perfect bake.
  • Arrange white and whole wheat bread cubes in an even layer on a large baking sheet.
  • Toast bread cubes in a preheated oven for 5 to 7 minutes until evenly golden, then transfer to a large bowl.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the sausage and onions until fully cooked and crumbled, about 6 to 8 minutes. Stir in celery, sage, rosemary, and thyme, cooking until flavors meld, about 2 minutes.
  • Pour the savory sausage mixture over the bread in the bowl. Combine it with the chopped apple, dried cranberries, parsley, and liver. Drizzle with the flavorful turkey stock and melted butter, then gently stir to combine.
  • Let the stuffing cool completely before gently filling the turkey.
