Baked garam masala fries

Spicy Indian-inspired baked fries - perfect for a fun, casual get-together with street food flair.
Ingredients:
  • 16.80 gm coconut oil or olive oil
  • 20.00 ml garam masala
  • 2.50 gm smoked paprika (pimenton)
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 700g desiree potatoes, scrubbed, cut into 1cm-thick fries
  • Black sesame seeds (optional), to serve
  • Hot tomato chutney, to serve
  • Lime wedges, to serve
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 200C. Line a large baking tray with baking paper. In a bowl, mix oil, garam masala, paprika, and turmeric. Add fries and toss well to coat evenly. Arrange in a single layer on the tray. Bake for 45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until nice and crispy.
  • Season fries with a pinch of salt and black sesame seeds, if desired. Serve with warm chutney and lime wedges to squeeze on top.
