Spicy garam masala and cayenne fish sticks, crispy baked for a simple and flavorful family dinner. Air fryer friendly!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound cod fish fillets
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/3 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 450°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat, then give it a quick spray of cooking oil and set it aside.
  • Dry the fish with paper towels, then cut into finger-length pieces, and sprinkle with salt.
  • Create a dredging station by mixing flour, garam masala, and cayenne powder with salt and pepper in one bowl. Whisk together egg, milk, and salt in another bowl. Lastly, season panko with salt and pepper in a third bowl.
  • Coat the fish sticks: Individually coat each fish stick in flour mixture, then egg wash, and finally panko. Place them on the baking sheet making sure all sides are well coated. Repeat for all fish sticks.
  • - Arrange fish sticks evenly on a baking sheet and coat the tops with cooking spray. - Bake until golden and crispy, 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through for even cooking. - Season with salt and serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce. - Don't forget to rate the recipe if you enjoyed it!
