Phyllo-wrapped feta drizzled with honey: a versatile and indulgent dish, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (7 ounce) block Greek feta cheese
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 4 (13x18-inch) sheets frozen phyllo dough, thawed
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 4 tablespoons honey
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) and prepare a baking sheet with a trusty silicone baking mat like Silpat®.
  • Cut the block of feta in half horizontally, then stand each half upright and slice down the middle to create 2 pieces from each half.
  • Combine egg, butter, and olive oil in a small bowl and whisk until smooth.
  • Place 2 sheets of phyllo dough on a flat surface and generously brush with the egg mixture, ensuring it covers most of the surface area.
  • Lay down 2 feta pieces side by side on the dough, positioning them approximately 4 inches from the bottom edge.
  • Wrap the feta in the dough by folding the bottom edge up and then both sides towards the center, ensuring the edges are even with the feta. Brush the dough with the egg mixture for a beautiful golden finish.
  • Fold the phyllo and feta into square, tight packages, with seams underneath. Place both packets on the baking sheet.
  • Coat with egg mixture and generously sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  • Bake in the oven until golden brown, around 20-25 minutes. Serve hot and drizzle with honey.
