Cinnamon-spiced apple and raisin filling wrapped in crispy phyllo and baked until golden.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound sweet apples -- peeled, cored and thinly sliced
  • 0.25 cup golden raisins
  • 0.25 cup dried currants
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 2 slices brown bread, crumbled
  • 0.5 (16 ounce) package phyllo dough
  • 0.25 cup butter, melted
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Mix together sweet and tart apples, plump raisins, tangy currants, warm cinnamon, sugar, and bread crumbs in a bowl until fully combined.
  • Brush melted butter generously over multiple sheets of pastry, layer them on a baking sheet. Evenly spread fruit mixture over the top sheet, roll into a log shape, and brush with more melted butter.
  • Bake until the pastry turns a beautiful golden brown and the fruit becomes tender in a preheated oven for 30 minutes.
