Succulent baked pork chops paired with savory caramelized onion rice for a simple and flavorful one-dish meal.
Ingredients:
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 pinch seasoned salt, or to taste
  • 6 thin bone-in pork chops
  • 1 (14 ounce) can beef consomme
  • 10 fluid ounces water
  • 1.5 cups white rice
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) for a perfect bake.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter until golden brown, about 15 to 20 minutes. Plate the caramelized onion.
  • Season each pork chop generously with seasoned salt. Sear them in a large skillet until beautifully browned on each side, about 1 to 2 minutes per side.
  • In a 9x13-inch baking dish, combine beef consomme and water. Add rice and caramelized onion. Place pork chops on top of the rice. Cover the dish with aluminum foil.
  • Roast in the oven until the pork is fully cooked, for 45 to 60 minutes, or until an instant-read thermometer registers at least 145 degrees F (63 degrees C) when inserted into the center.
