Homemade burger buns: sturdy base, light interior, perfect for stacking toppings.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 teaspoons Clabber Girl® Baking Powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.75 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • Spice Islands® Sesame Seeds, optional
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and grease a baking sheet with cooking spray.
  • Combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and baking soda in a mixing bowl, and whisk until well blended.
  • Combine buttermilk and eggs in the mixer, beat on low speed for 30 seconds until combined, then switch to high speed and beat for 1 minute until the dough is sticky and resembles frosting.
  • Using damp hands, shape the dough into 6 to 8 evenly sized portions and arrange them on a baking sheet, gently forming them into bun shapes.
  • Dampen fingers and gently shape the buns, smoothing the tops and sides. Optionally, sprinkle with sesame seeds for added flavor and texture.
  • Bake until golden brown in a preheated oven for about 15 minutes.
  • Let the buns cool down, then slice them lengthwise. Enjoy by pairing with burgers, chicken, fish, veggies, or your favorite ingredients!
