Balsamic-Glazed Pearl Onions

Caramelized balsamic onions topped with fresh parsley, ready in 30 minutes.
Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2 bags (16 ounces each) frozen small whole onions
  • 1 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • Chopped fresh Italian parsley, if desired
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add frozen onions and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions release water and start to soften.
  • Combine vinegar and sugar with the onions, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Simmer uncovered for about 10 minutes, until the liquid becomes a glaze. Season with salt and pepper, and finish with a sprinkle of parsley for garnish.
